This development is an effort to commercialize a new field of braided cords, and will be the first attempt of its kind in the industry.

A collaboration between Phiten, a body care company that supports health, and the traditional techniques of Iga braids has resulted in the creation of an entirely new braided shoelace using a highly flame-retardant fiber (Conex).
The flame-retardant material improves safety from the feet up. This "Kumihimo Shoelaces" uses "Aqua Titanium," and wearing products that use this technology helps to relax the body.
Using Phiten's water-soluble metal technology, Aqua Titanium is dispersed in water at the nano level and is impregnated into each and every fiber. "Iga Braid" is designated as a "traditional craft." These shoelaces realize the strength and beautiful weaving that is unique to Iga Braid.
